Every escape room owner knows that it is not easy to receive good feedback on their rooms. Sometimes it is a good review, but the customer didn’t give you 5 stars, even though there weren’t any disadvantages. While reviewing gamers’ feedback of our customers’ rooms we asked ourselves: what is the “recipe of a good review? What ” ingredients” does it need? How to ask and get good customer reviews? GAME EXPERIENCE

Your escape room should be immersive – this is very important. Beautiful decorations, game setting according to the theme of the ER, WOW effects such as: lighting, shakes, live actors – these are the main points, which the players mention in their reviews.

PUZZLES

Try to find the golden ratio: puzzles shouldn’t be too easy or too difficult. For the best game experience players should escape from the room in 50 – 55 minutes.

Also be aware of variations. Every puzzle should have a unique game approach.

GAME MASTER

We have already talked about game masters a lot, but they are the main link between the room and the customer. He/she can warm up the guests before the game and get them in the right mood. They will help navigate them through the whole game and will be the person to congratulate them upon their escape. It is essential to have the right game master: according to players’ feedback they should be kind, friendly, encouraging and give tips / instructions, which are easy to understand.

LOCATION

Easy to get to using public transport, located in the city center, near the: shopping mall / train station / bus station – written in the feedback of satisfied players. Of course your location can be away from the city center, but then it should be easy to find.

Another thing ER players mentioned: clean escape room, good puzzle maintenance (every puzzle works) and something extra such as: a bar, restaurant and group photos.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Don’t forget about customer service! Confirm bookings quickly, don’t allow them to overlap and develop a good time management strategy. Your game masters are also a part of the CS team, so give them all the necessary instructions and training, so that even the most demanding/difficult customers won’t be a problem for them!
